The Q&A Archives: Seed Germination

Question: I planted the Sugar Bon peas on March 26, 1998. Why did only half sprout?

Answer: Pea seeds are tolerant of cold soils, so all should have sprouted. Why not dig around in the area to see if you can find the peas? Sometimes birds will unearth the seeds and eat them. Sometimes seeds rot because of wet soils. In either case, the peas should be replanted.
