The Q&A Archives: Hedge in the backyard

Question: I have wooded backyard, but it is not very dense. We bought this house beccause we like greenery. In winter there are no leaves on trees. we are looking for some hedging or a tree line which will be green in winter as well.It should also be easy growing & drought resistant.can you suggest some thing?

Answer: Ohio State University recommends Thuja occidentalis (American Arborvitae), Ilex (holly) or Arctostaphylos uva-ursi (Kinnikinnick, Red bearberry) for woodland planting in your region. Hope one of these is just right for your landscape!
