The Q&A Archives: Pinch a flower

Question: How do you pinch a flower? Do you cut the flower or part of the leaves

Answer: You remove the entire flower where it meets the stem. On some plants such as petunias, you can also pinch back some of the stem to encourage new branching and additional flowers. On others, such as roses, you can cut back the entire flowering stem to remove it from the plant. Enjoy your garden!
