How can you determine the type of seed to use when trying to patch and match the lawn you are repairing? I live in Philadelphia and my stepdad did a great job on the lawn of the home I have now inherited. However, when the lawn started to have so bald spots I tried to reseed just that area and the grass does not match. Is there a way to figure it out?

You may be able to determine the grass type by visiting the following web page from Penn State. At the bottom of the article are close up photos of the most often planted turf types in Philadelphia. Hope it helps!
