a friend gave me Iris's out of her flowerbed--by the time I got my flowerbed ready for these flowers it has been 6 day. 3 days of sunshine now 3 days of rain. How long can this Iris still live in a container with water on the roots before I can get them into the ground.

The iris will survive for a few weeks but don't expect them to flower this year. Make sure the soil doesn't dry out or remain soggy wet in the container. When the garden dries out you can plant your irises. Enjoy your garden!
