Squirrels in my garden have eaten my Lilacs buds and take out most of my recently planted annuals.
I don't want to harm the squirrels but I want them out of my plants.
What do you advice
Thanks,

A protective barrier is about the only way to keep those pesky critters from destroying your lilac. Drive a couple of stakes into the ground and enricle the stakes and the lilac trunk with chicken wire or bird netting to make a physical barrier around the plant. You'll need to do the same with your new annueals and perennials. These barriers will be temporary until the squirrels figure out they can't feast in your garden. When that happens they will go elsewhere and your can remove the bird netting. Best wishes with your garden!
