The numbers on the fertilizer label relate to the amounts of nitrogen (first number), phosphorous (second number) and potassium (third number). A 10-10-10 is considered a balanced fertilizer because it contains an equal amount of the three major nutrients that most plants need for good growth. A 10-10-10 is a good all purpose fertilizer for most plants. Hope this answers your question.
