| It's true that some vegetable plants make better companions than others and here is a link to a publication that you might find helpful: http://www.ext.nodak.edu/count... If you are having trouble getting your plants to grow and thrive, you may need to improve the soil prior to planting. Try spreading 3-4 inche of organic matter over the bed and digging it in to a depth of 8-10 inches. Enriching the soil with organic matter will help loosen the soil, help it drains quickly while still holding the right amount of moisture, and as the organic matter decomposes it will provide nutrients to the roots of your plants. Give this a try and I think you will see an improvement in your flowers and shrubs. Good luck with your garden! |
