The Q&A Archives: Fire Resistant Shrubs

Question: Please recommend some fire resistant shrubs we can plant along the back wall of our home.

Answer: You'll want to use some herbacious perennials interspaced between your shrubs, as they are less likely to fuel a fire. Try barberry, bush morning glory, cotoneaster, daylily, dwarf pittosporum, gaura, jade plant, sedum, vinca, and myoporum.
