| The bottom edge of my lawn is burden with cloves, barren spots, weeds. Cars park at the bottom edge and I was wondering could the emissions from the cars cause this issue and what can I do to get it healthy like the rest of my lawn. |
| If cars are parking on the area the soil is probably compacted which leaves not much room for root growth or moisture retention. You can repair the area by aerating it and reseeding. A core aerator will remove one inch by three inch plugs from the lawn. Leave the plugs on the lawn and they will dissolve in rain or water from the sprinklers. After aerating spread a thin layer of sand or compost over the area and water it in well. The sand or compost plus the soil from the plugs will work their way down into the holes left by the plugs. You can then overseed but that's only a temporary solution. You might want to consider turning the area into a gravel strip bordered by a groundcover or perennial flowers.
