The Q&A Archives: Repeat Flowering

Question: I ssw this shrub at your store but the label says blooms dec-may does this mean there are no blossoms the rest of the year and is is good for Michigan clay soil and weather. After ut blooms is it just green or are the blooms dead looking thank you

Answer: Heaths and heathers such as Erica x darleyensis will bloom 3-4 times a year if your prune off the dead flowers and part of the stems. I just shear mine back after the flowers fade. This keeps them dense and full and ready to bloom again. Enjoy!
