I am looking for a plant that will climb a trellis. However the area I am looking to put it does not get much sun, only the late afternoon sun which in Michigan can be very hot at times. I prefer a perenial but if not available will consider an annual. I would like something that will flower. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Bittersweet, trumpet creeper, Silverlace vine and wisteria are all hardy to your region and should grow well in the area you describe. Enjoy!
