I live in Phoenix, AZ and part of my fron lawn gets a lot of shade in the summer and the bermuda won't grow. I'd say the shaded areas get maybe 4 hour of sun each day. What grass will grow in that area?

Fescues are the most shade tolerant of grasses but they will go dormant during the hottest months of the summer. Kentucky bluegrass has some tolerance to shade and will remain green in hot weather so you might want to try overseeding your shady areas with a fescue/bluegrass mixture. Best wishes with your turf!
