This is the second year that I have 100 plants and no flowers, well I did get 2. what am I doing wrong? |
If the bulbs are planted too deeply, if they are overcrowded or if you are removing the foliage while it is still green, that would account for the non-blooming. Daffs should be planted only about 4 inches deep and given at least 6 inches all around each bulb so they won't have to compete for moisture and nutrients. And, be sure to allow the foliage to ripen and die off on its own. The leaves manufacture carbohyrates which the bulbs store for use the following spring. Hope this information helps you determine just why your daffodils are not blooming. |
