We just closed on a foreclosure in central TX...so we don't know about the previous lawn care but can assume it was minimal to none! The (st. augustine) grass is not thick, green, nor without lots of weeds. We applied a weed-n-feed last weekend but know it's late to really kill the weeds. What can we do at this point in the season?

Since you've already applied weed and feed there's not much else to do except water and mow to encourage a thick and healthy stand of turf. Feed again this summer and in the fall apply a pre emergent herbicide to stop new weeds from sprouting. Once your turf gets onto a regular feeding, watering and mowing schedule it will grow thick enough to crowd out weeds. Best wishes with your lawn.
