The Q&A Archives: dwf lemon

Question: tree is 35 years old leaves are turning yellow and new leaves are sparse and turn yellow. No lemon blooms

Answer: Your tree may be reaching the end of its normal life cycle so keep that in mind as you try to revive it. Have you applied iron? The soils can be so alkaline that they bind up nutrients so regardless of how much you fertilize, the minerals won't be available to the roots of your tree. Apply Ironite (or a similar product) in amounts as recommended on the label and the leaves should green up for you. Best wishes with your tree!
