Fraxinus, or Ash trees, grow fairly fast and tolerate most any kind of soil. They're generally used as street trees or shade trees. The leaves are divided into leaflets and there are inconsipicuous flowers on the separate male and female trees. The most commonly grown is the White Ash, but there are dozens of cultivars to choose from, each with their own characteristics and growth patterns. Ash trees will grow from 40' to 80' feet tall.
