The Q&A Archives: hawthorne

Question: My hawthorne shrubs are about 12 yrs. In order to keep them below my windows I trim them alot. They are green but do not flower. Is there anything I can do? I trim them right after the flowering period.

Answer: Hawthorns flower on the new growth of the season so try pruning in very early spring to promote new flowering growth. Hope this helps!
