My zinnia seedlings were growing nicely under shop lights when many of the lower leaves and some top leaves turned brown. Now the seedlings don't seem to be growing any more. Stems are still strong though. Did I burn them with too much light and can they recover?? I'd hate to lose them all.

It does sound like a little sunscald or heat stress from the shop lights. Try raising the lights up an inch or two and setting a small fan to provide good air circulation. Keep the lights on about 14 hours a day and turn them out at night. I think the plants will replace the damaged leaves. Best wishes with your zinnias!
