The Q&A Archives: Problem with pear tree

Question: I have a Pyrus Calleryana Jazam tree that I planted in a raised bed 3 years ago. It was doing ok until last year when I noticed some of its leaves turned brown & curled up. This year, it has only 2 blossoms on it, 1/2 the tree is dead & the bark is splitting all over. Can you tell me what is wrong w/it? I live in zip code 46307. Thanks

Answer: It sounds like a disease but I'm not sure which one. However, here is a publication with disease symptoms and signs. When you read a statement that pertains to your own tree, click on the highlighted word and you will find more details.

Hope this helps you determine what the problem might be and how to control it.
