I was advised to water for 30 minutes daily, several sections of my new hydroseed lawns. If it rains should I still water it and isn't 30 minutes too much water?

If you run the water for 30 minutes at a time I think the water will run off before it has a chance to soak into the soil. I think I would water for 10-15 minutes in the morning and 10-15 minutes in the late afternoon. If it looks like it is drying out, water in between those times, too. If it rains, you shouldn't have to water. You should keep the hydroseeded area moist for about 3 weeks. After that you can begin easing back on the watering because the seeds will have sprouted and the roots will have developed. Good luck with your new lawn.
