What fertilizer do I use when planting my arborvitae? How far apart do I plant them if I want them to form a privacy fence as they grow?
Thanks
Sandy

Emerald Green Arborvitaes grow about 8' wide so you can space them 6' apart for a privacy hedge and only 4' apart if you want them to grow together even faster. You won't need to feed them until next spring. If you feed when you plant, you'll be forcing top growth when you really want the roots to become well established. So don't feed now - wait until next spring and then use an 8-8-8 fertilizer.
