The Q&A Archives: new pear tree

Question: I just planted my pear tree last fall. it bloomed beautifully but now i can see that all the leaves are being eaten by something. should i spray the tree with something?

Answer: Lots of little worms and insect love tender new leaves and if you don't see any pests now, they have already left the area so spraying won't help. Just inspect your tree's leaves periodically. If you find pests have them identified and we'll do our best to suggest control measures.
