my pink dogwood was blooming when i bought it. it flowered the following year and never did again. i've had it for about 4 or 5 years now. what should i do

Dogwoods are naturally shy bloomers. It takes a while for them to become well established and mature enough to bloom. Assuming the tree is in a partial sun to full sun situation, that your soil is acidic, of at least normal fertility and that the plant is kept in an evenly moist soil that is also well drained (meaning not kept soggy) it should continue to establish itself, gather strength and bloom eventually. I think patience is the only answer.
