| Why hasn't my dogwood near my deck bloomed this year? Other dogwoods on property bloomed. At first I thought it was a Kousa dogwood, which is a late bloomer, now I just don't know. Has beautiful leaves, green and healthy. |
| Dogwoods are naturally shy bloomers and sometimes late frosts can nip the flower buds before they have a chance to open so occasionally they won't bloom at all. Assuming the tree is in a partial sun to full sun situation, that your soil is acidic, of at least normal fertility and that the plant is kept in an evenly moist soil that is also well drained (meaning not kept soggy) it should continue to establish itself, gather strength and bloom for you next spring. I think patience is the only answer. |
