The herbs you mention will grow outdoors in a sunny spot and you can plant your seeds directly outdoors about the middle of May. If you've never gardened before you might want to gain some experience by planting your herbs in containers this year rather than in the ground. They will be easier to monitor for water needs and you can keep them in a sunny spot near the kitchen door so you can go out and snip some when you are cooking. Use 10 or 12 inch containers and fill them with moistened potting soil. Plant the seeds as recommended on the backs of the seed packets and keep them watered (but not soggy wet). Most herbs grow fastest in warm weather so be patient with your new plants. Enjoy your new herb garden!
