The Q&A Archives: Source for Tree Seedlings

Question: Can you refer me to a reliable nusery (either in my area or mail order) from which I can purchase a variety of evergreen tree seedlings?

Answer: If you are looking for a large number of seedlings, for a reforestation project, for example, you might check with your state Dept. of Natural Resources or county forester. Many states have a State Nursery just for such things. You can also try Stanley and Sons Nursery in Oregon, ph# 503-663-4391

If you are looking a smaller number of trees (and larger sized seedlings), here are a few possibilities: Carroll Gardens in Maryland (800-638-6334), Roslyn Nursery in NY (516-643-9347), or Twombly Nursery in CT (203-261-2133). If you know exactly what you want, and can be more specific with quantities, I might be able to help further. (Please re-submit the question with added info to the web site.)
