Pruning weeping cherry? - Knowledgebase Question

Can I cut away the fan at the bottom of the limbs on my weeping cherry? They are longer than the trunk of the tree and lay in the flower bed.

Yes, you can shorten the branches. Cut up by several feet because wherever you prune the branch will fork and send out two new stems. They will take a while to reach the ground, but eventually they will elongate and touch the ground again.
