I have a corner, raised planter which has a sandy-grit filling. I planted iris, I am planting a penstemen and a phormium, a spiked perennial. Can I include a lantanum? I am trying to use water selectively as I have two small cacti

Lantana, guara and salvia are also good choices for your raised bed. Lavender grows well under those conditions but might be just an annual, depending upon how cold the winter weather gets. Enjoy your garden!
