The Q&A Archives: Pruning

Question: I have two snowball bush and one the flowers are dead but not the leaves and the other I thought maybe breaking the dead blooms off would help but none are reappearing. What should and did I do?

Answer: Have you tried pruning them back? Snowball bushes will become thick and dense if your prune them after the flowering has finished. They will take all manner of pruning. I usually trim them back by about one third and they respond with lots of healthy new stems and foliage. Give it a try!
