The Q&A Archives: What's next

Question: I recently thratch my lawn. Now I have several bald area in my lawn. What is next and when can I put out grass seeds.

Answer: Dethatching usually leaves several bare spots. Your soil is now ready for new grass seeds. You can either plant only the bare areas or you can overseed your entire lawn. After seeds, sprinkle a little compost over the seeds in the bare areas so they make good contact with the soil and remain moist. Your lawn should look terrific once the new seeds sprout and the new lawn grows. Enjoy!
