I am renting a home and would like to know the best foolproof flower plant for a hanging basket. Work more than full time and want something that will be colorful with little maintenance. Please advise. Thank you,

The soil in hanging baskets dry out quickly and the roots will be exposed to lots of heat so your hanging basket may need daily watering - unless you choose to grow succulents which thrive in hot, dry conditions. There are lots of trailing succulents (such as donkey's tail) that look nice when cascading over the sides of a hanging basket. They aren't very colorful, though. You might try portulaca or even ice plant for a splash of color. Best wishes with your hanging basket.
