Genista, or broom, grows best in full sunshine and is drought tolerant once established. They don't have any special growing requirements and easily adapt to most soils. Water deeply once a week for their first season in the garden. After they have finished blooming you can cut them back to make them neater in appearance and more compact. Enjoy your new plant!
