Most tomato cultivars will grow well in a container. I would choose one described as "determinate"; that means they grow in bush form, rather than as a long vine. Good varieties for full-size tomatoes include 'Northern Exposure', 'Celebrity' and 'Sweet Tangerine'. The more sun you can provide, the better your plants will flower and develop fruit. For full sized tomato plants, a 5-gallon container will be perfect. Best wishes with your garden!
