Zinnia seeds are ready to harvest when the flower has dried up completely on the plant. Work on a dry day because it is important to keep the seeds dry for storage. You will have to pick the seeds out of the inside of the dead flower. This is a job because they stick in quite firmly.

Zinnias are one of the most popular annual flowers available, and hybridizers have provided many varieties for us to grow. Keep in mind that, unfortunately, seeds from the F1 hybrids are not recommended for saving because the next generation usually does not resemble the parents.
