I plated rhubarb two years ago. The leaves are huge and get flowers. My mother-in-law told me to cut the flowers off. Should I follow her advice. We have not harvested any stalks yet. When should I cut the rhubarb to cook.

Your Mother in Law is right - cut down any flowering stalks as soon as they emerge to redirect the roots' energy into producing more edible stalks. You can harvest rhubarb when the stalks are 12-18 inches long. Enjoy!
