I'm in USDA zone 10 and am looking for a easy care, colorful shrub (3-4 ft tallest) to separate my yard from my neighbor. I plan on separate planter boxes; not a full garden.

Carissa grandiflora ('Nana' dwarf natal plum) grows 3-4'; as do Cuphea hyssopifolia
(Cuphea); and Euphorbia milii (Crown of thorns). Ilex cornuta 'Rotunda' (dwarf Chinese holly), Ilex vomitoria 'Nana' (dwarf yaupon holly), Serissa foetida (Serissa) and Mahonia fortunei (Fortune's mahonia) are also good choices for a sunny spot in your landscape.
