| Polebeans will grow upwards if tied to an upright stake. You don't need to make a sophisticated trellis for them, but you can if you want. They will grow up onto slats if you want to attach lattice boards onto two stakes, but the plants grow just as well if they are simply tied and coaxed to grow around and around a thick stake. |
