Hi, I have been having problem with strong we face in northern california, especially our neighborhood, my plants leaves turn brown and wilts after cold hard wind, they dont drop off, the curl and turn brown and stay on plants and tree, and they perform poorly or die, do you have a solution for me? how can i protect them from wind? thanks |
There are products you can spray on the leaves to prevent dessication (called Wilt-Pruf) but you'll need to reapply whenever the wind threatens to blow. Some plants are more wind tolerant than others. Those with thin or tender leaves will be most affected, those with leathery or fleshy leaves will be most tolerant. You might also think about planting a wind break of evergreens along the windy side of your property to help redirect those cold winds. Enjoy your landscape! |
