| i bought a 1 gallon dwarf pomegranate. The leaves have dried and it looks like it is trying to die. I have tried letting the soil get a little on the dry side and I have tried watering it more. I had it in part sun and in full sun. Any ideas? Are there any plants that would not get a long with it? |
| Dwarf pomegranates are semi-evergreen so they can sometimes lose all their leaves just prior to their new growth spurt in the spring. If it is still in the nursery pot, try planting it in the ground. The roots may be filling the nursery pot and overheating in the direct sunshine. Or, at least block the sun from hitting the container to keep the roots from overheating. If you recently planted yours it is probably going through some transplant shock and may need a little more time to adjust. A deep soaking once or twice a week should be all your plant needs. Give it a few more weeks to adjust and then try trimming it back all over. This will encourage healthy new growth. If you don't see new leaves appearing a few weeks after that, I don't think there's much hope for your plant. |
