I actually have 2 questions. 1) I have daffodils that have withered now but the reeds from them are still there. is it okay to snip them down? 2) I want to plant Lilac bushes but I can never find any, where can you get them and how long does it take for them to bloom?

Once the flowers are spent you can cut off the flower stem but leave the foliage alone until it dies down on its own. Lilacs grow well in Ohio and most nurseries and garden centers should carry them. Try a little later in the season - sometimes flowering shrubs are sold when they are in full bloom and looking their best. Enjoy!
