I have several older azealea bushes in my flowerbeds that are looking thin and spindley. I dont want to cut the bush back, is there a way to encourage newer growth at the bottom without cutting it back? |
You can try pinching out the growing tips of each stem to force new growth, but the real remedy for legginess in shrubs is to prune them back a bit. This encourages new growth both behind the pruning cut and in front of the cut. |
