Question: How do you prune grasses (e.g., pampas) so the plant will grow well the next year? Presently, my grasses are beautiful but I do not know how far back I should prune them so the new growth can take off? Paul Arsenault Westmont, NJ
Answer: You can prune your ornamental grass right back to the crown after you're finished enjoying them this winter. The new blades will arise from the crowns or clumps in spring. Enjoy!
