The Q&A Archives: Vines for Zone Seven

Question: I am building an arbor this fall. Please give me the top 5 suggestions for a blooming perennial/annual vine for Zone 7. A clematis seems to grow so slow and is spindly in the winter. Is an annual vine like a moon vine a good choice?

Answer: Moonflowers and other morning glories are good choices for full sun or partial shade. Jessamine, jasmine, trumpet vine (Campsis radicans) and wisteria are other great choices. All are vigorous growers.
