I have an old maple tree that was in the yard when I bought the house. I do not beleive it was maintained well, but i do not want to get rid of it. What can be done to revive it to it's natural beauty?

If it is a large established tree pruning can help renew it but it might be a job for an arborist. A certified arborist will charge for his services but the results should be a happier, healthier tree. Or you might want to contact your local cooperative extension service to see if they have a publication on renewal pruning for maple trees. (Look in the phone book under county offices).
