I am new to California. I would like to plant an onion similar to the Vidalias. Is it possible?

Vidalias don't keep well, but they're wonderfully sweet-tasting. Here are a couple of substitutes for the Vidalia: Yellow Granex available from Shepherd's Garden Seeds, 30 Irene St., Torrington, CT 06790-6658. Phone (860) 482-3638. Or, Blanco Duro, available from Territorial Seed Company, P. O. Box 157, Cottage Grove, OR 97424-0061. Phone (541) 942-9547.
