The Q&A Archives: Holly Bushes

Question: my holly bushes have black berries on them looks like some bushes are dying what should i use on them thank you

Answer: I think the black berries were originally bright red and because the birds did not eat them over the wintertime, they are overripe and ready to drop from the plant. You weren't very specific about what makes you think they are dying. You can try pruning them back by a few inches to encourage healthy new growth. If they still look sick later in the season, submit another question with more details on their appearance and what kind of cultural care you've been giving them. With lots more details we might be able to identify a specific problem with your hollies.
