The Botanical name of your plant is: Azalea 'Girard's Crimson'. It is an evergreen (sometimes semi-evergreen) shrub that grows in part sun to part shade in rich, well drained soil. It blooms in early to mid-May with double crimson colored flowers. It will reach a mature height and width of 3 feet. It is considered very hardy. Hope this answers all your questions.
