As a rule the snails won't harm your lawn but they can be a nuisance when they leave the lawn and start munching on your plants. There are products to control snails and one that is really effective is iron based. Sluggo is one brand name but there are others on the market. It is harmless to pets and wildlife. Be sure to apply according to label directions.
