I have just moved into my home. I've never done gardening before, so have no knowledge whatsoever. I have learned that my lawn has black spot. I'd like to know if I can apply fungal treatment and weed and feed at the same time.

It sounds like a fungus of some sort but I don't know exactly what it is. Corn gluten meal is a reasonably good fungicide, it stops weed seeds from germinating and it is a source of nitrogen so instead of using a weed and feed, use a product containing corn gluten meal on your lawn. Look for the initials CGM on the package or for the term Corn Gluten Meal as the main ingredient. It should solve all the problems with your lawn. Good luck with your new landscape.
